Crew 303 received a letter from a 3rd grade class in Virginia asking us to participate is something called the "The Great Mail Race". The idea is that you mail a survey to classes around the US, one class in each state. Then they mail their response back to you and you are able to learn about classes all around the United States.
We are really excited to get started! We are filling out the questionnaire and writing friendly letters to our new friends around America. Hopefully we will be able to find other 3rd grade classrooms in every state. If you know someone with a connection to a 3rd grade class in another state, please send their information to us!
Keep your eye out right here on our blog for updates on the letters we receive!

We are a group of 3rd graders at Polaris Charter Academy on Chicago's westside, in Humboldt Park. We are an Expeditionary Learning school. This year we are grappling with hard math problems and hard questions.

Homework Routine Starts Monday
Each day for homework you should:
- Read for 20 minutes. Fill out your reading log. Get it checked by a parent to make sure it is filled out correctly.
- Complete one page of the math packet.
- Choose one task from the word study grid to complete. Use your list of words to complete the task. Don't forget to study their spelling for the test on Friday. Focus on the spelling pattern for the week, because there will be 5 mystery words on the test, in addition to your 10!
